The Bostonians (1984)
Based on Henry James’ 1886 novel, The Bostonians presents a panorama of types associated with women's rights in the U.S. in the late 19th century as they circle around its central triangle: Olive Chancellor, a wealthy women's rights advocate, Basil Ransome, an anti-feminist womanizer, and Verena Tarrant, a young woman with a talent for public speaking, over whom they vie for control.
