Documentarian Liwaa Yazji confronts us with the faces and voices of civilians caught in the middle of Syria’s ongoing civil war. Through a variety of sources from interviews with her own camera to recorded Skype conversations, Yazji brings us into the homes and lives of a handful of people around the country with powerful intimacy as they wrestle with the decision to flee or not—as the violence closes in on them all.
