Robert Altman.

This send-up of the international fashion industry sees a host of colorful characters descend upon Paris for the annual ritual of preening and raw commerce that makes up a “fashion week.” Lampooning the specialized world of designers, photographers, magazine editors and models, and incorporating actual designers and other celebrities in proto-fictional news reports, the film shows a vapid “community” constantly confusing attention-grabbing with the creation of beauty.
