Stan Chambers interviews Ramona Ripston of the ACLU about reports of harassment by police officers against gay individuals due to their sexual orientation. The ACLU is distributing forms to help them investigate, and if the evidence backs up their belief of widespread harassment they will make a presentation to the Police Commission. She also talks about the resignation of Chief Davis who openly stated he did not want gay people in the police department, how that ideology has filtered down through the department and that it will take time and effort to bring about changes.
Note: The KTLA newsfilm collection at UCLA consists of cut and unedited stories, outtakes and fill footage, originally shot on 16mm reversal film stock with magnetic soundtrack. Some footage, particularly material not used for broadcast, may be without sound.
