Stan Chambers interviews representatives for an organization working with the Adoption Bureau to place Black children with adoptive parents. The representatives talk about the shortage of adoptive homes, the difficulty placing older Black children, and successful efforts to increase placements by raising awareness of these issues through the media. Footage includes shots of four children being interviewed and exteriors of Martin Luther King Jr. General Hospital.
Note: The KTLA newsfilm collection at UCLA consists of cut and unedited stories, outtakes and fill footage, originally shot on 16mm reversal film stock with magnetic soundtrack. Some footage, particularly material not used for broadcast, may be without sound.
