"NOW representative discusses meeting with Governor Jerry Brown"

Stan Chambers reports from the State Office Building in Los Angeles where Governor Jerry Brown is meeting with over a dozen representatives from women's organizations. Among those attending the meeting are Judge Joan Dempsey Klein, Barbara Johnson (president of California Women Lawyers), representatives from NOW (National Organization for Women), representatives from minority women's groups, and women from the governor's staff. After the meeting, a representative from NOW gives a press conference in which she offers her thoughts on the meeting with the governor. She talks about the main topics the women present addressed, ranging from childcare issues to affirmative action legislation. According to her, Governor Brown seemed like he was really listening to them and was particularly interested in issues that affect poor women. Footage from the meeting includes Jerry Brown arriving with reporters in the background, women filing into a conference room and taking seats around the table.
