"Los Angeles shows support for American hostages in Iran"

This material covers three different ways in which the City of Los Angeles showed support for the American hostages being held in Iran. Most of the footage is from a meeting of the Los Angeles City Council in which they issue an official holiday greeting from the city to the hostages. The greeting has been signed by Mayor Bradley, and will be signed by all members of the City Council present before being hand delivered to the Postmaster. Councilman Zev Yarovslvsky offers some remarks and holds up the greeting for the camera before putting it on the podium for other council members to sign. Additional footage features Kenneth Hahn, a member of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, speaking about organizing a light display throughout Los Angeles to show support for the hostages in Tehran. On Christmas Eve, Hahn wants everyone to turn on their porch light from 6 to 8 pm. Mike Botula reports from the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum where the Olympic torch has been lit. The torch will continue to burn until the hostages are free. Some footage is voiceover accompanied by picture that appears to be someone's hand covering the camera lens.
