In a press conference, Mayor Tom Bradley tells reporters the International Olympic Committee has declined their proposal which would have provided the city protection against financial obligation related to hosting the Olympic Games, and he is sending a letter to the City Council recommending they withdraw the bid to host. Councilman John Ferraro expresses that the situation is a disappointment for the city. An unidentified man talks about protecting taxpayers, and that a representative from the local committee will meet with representatives from the IOC to explore ways to have the 1984 Olympic Games happen in Los Angeles. Clip includes footage of Bradley arriving, reporters, and cameramen. Some of this footage is silent.
