Mayor Tom Bradley and Los Angeles City Councilman Marvin Braude, chairman of the finance committee, announce the city’s proposed balanced budget and how it came about. Bradley is proud to be able to deliver on his goal to set a balanced budget without having to raise taxes. He talks about trimming department budgets the previous year, and asking departments to cut their new proposed budgets for the new fiscal year. Braude thinks the mayor did a fantastic job with the budget and is looking forward to reviewing the budget with the City Council. Clip includes silent footage of the press conference and reporters.
