Councilman Tom Bradley addresses reporters regarding Mayor Sam Yorty's plans for spending a $44 million windfall the city has received through revenue sharing. Bradley states Yorty's plan is to spend $15 million to pay down the budget deficit, and another $28 million to build Plaza Technical Center near City Hall. Although Bradley agrees about paying down the deficit, he sees critical needs in the community that should be dealt with, such as a housing program and helicopters for the police and fire departments. He announces he will be introducing a motion to the city council that would call for them to set the priorities and ensure the money is spent properly. Includes shots of some of the reporters in attendance.
