Tom Bradley discusses the serious crime problem in Los Angeles, as well as concerns the police department needs citizen support to help reduce crime. He will be proposing before the city council that they create a new program consisting of citizens trained by and working under the supervision of the police department that will augment the department's efforts. It has been tried in other cities, and he would like to test it in one area of the city first. If it is successful, the program will be taken citywide. Bradley also answers questions from the reporters.
