Announcer introduction: "Right now there is a train speeding between Lastenbury and New York, and on that train sit two people, a soldier and a girl -- Sammy and Dora Mayer -- and at Lastenbury the parents of both of them, each in their own way are a little worried. But as yet, there's been no word from either of them ever since Sammy phoned Uncle David that he and Dora were leaving. So at the Goldbergs meanwhile, there is nothing to do but sit and wait... and, as Molly is doing... talk... Listen..."

Announcer close: "And so as the train roars toward New York, it pulls together the lives and destinies of Sammy and Dora. These two, after so many mistakes and difficulties have truly found one another, as if their meeting had been preordained long before. And yet, fate is such an uncertain business. There is no telling but that Mrs. Mayer's objections may mask the real purpose and direction fate intends to take..."
