Announcer introduction: "Day by day a wasteland of misunderstanding, harshness, bitterness opens wider between Rosie and her parents... This is a strange and horrible thing for the Goldbergs... for the family has always been knit together by the deepest understanding and love... intimate... sensitive, continuous... But Rosie has taken a position which Jake and Molly simply can't fathom. Rosie has some money for college, and she refuses to give it up to help out her sister-in-law, Grace, Sammy's wife. Rosie dislikes Grace, suspects her, mistrusts her... whereas Jake and Molly have fallen head over heels in love with the girl. We know Rosie is right... but there is no way of proving it now... and so Rosie is just being stubborn and taking the consequences... meanwhile Jake and Molly are making every effort to raise the money Grace claims she needs... It's early morning now... Molly is up. Listen..."

Announcer close: "If there was anything Rosie could say or do that would further isolate her from her own family... this is it, but Rosie's is right and Jake and Molly are wrong... yet no one has any way of knowing yet just what's wrong with the girl whom Sammy married..."
